Meet Breelle Hunter

I offer therapy sessions in person in Jacksonville, NC or online via video. I'm available most weekdays, including evenings.

Hi, I’m Breelle Hunter LCMHC, NCC

A licensed clinical mental health counselor and founder of Hunting for Hope Counseling & Wellness. I’m so glad you’re here.

I specialize in working with individuals who are navigating anxiety, PTSD, C-PTSD, and the lingering impact of childhood wounds. Many of my clients describe feeling overwhelmed, anxious, or like they’ve been “the strong one” for far too long. If that sounds familiar, I want you to know—you don’t have to carry it all alone anymore.

My approach to therapy is holistic, trauma-informed, and deeply relational. I blend evidence-based practices like Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), ego states therapy (also referred to as parts work), and mindfulness to create a personalized experience for each client. I believe that healing happens in safe, supportive relationships, and it’s my privilege to walk alongside you on your path toward feeling more grounded, whole, and at peace.

Outside of therapy, you can usually find me soaking up the sunshine, gardening, or spending time with my three pups. Being outside helps me recharge and stay present—something I often encourage my clients to explore in their own lives as well.

Reaching out for support takes courage, and if you’ve made it this far, you’ve already taken the first step. I’d be honored to support you on your journey.
